Melanotan II (MT-II)

What is it? Melanotan II is a synthetic peptide that mimics alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It has been studied for its effects on skin pigmentation and other biological processes but is not approved by Health Canada or the FDA for cosmetic tanning or other routine uses.

Potential Research Benefits

May increase skin pigmentation by stimulating melanin production

May help achieve a tan with less UV exposure than would otherwise be required

May reduce the tendency to burn in some individuals by increasing melanin (this does not replace sun protection)
